The Solar Industries Association, on behalf of the solar water heating industry, maintains an accreditation system to assist potential purchasers of solar water heating system to find products that comply with the New Zealand Building Code and suppliers/installers who have a proven competence to install the systems.

The scheme is based on an independent third party having;

  • reviewed the supplier’s product to check that it complies with the New Zealand standards for product durability and safety, and
  • examined information provided by a supplier on their installation experience and processes to confirm that their installers are installing to industry best practice.
